Keeneland Free Grid Sat.Apr.12 Bluegrass Stakes, 2 other G1’s and 2 G3 races
Keeneland’s feature event Saturday April 12 is the Bluegrass Stakes G1 for 3yo’s with a field of 15 set. Bobby’s Kitten (Chad Brown) is the favorite, switching from turf to polytrack, in a bid to run in the Kentucky Derby on dirt.
The field includes a pair from Pletcher including Divine Oath, trying polytrack and distance for the first time in just his 3rd start, and also Gala Award trying polytrack in his 4th start.
Trombetta’s Extrasexyhippzster ranks highly in the grid in several categories and is 15-1 switching from dirt to polytrack. HIs last race was subpar but came off two good dirt outings before that.
Michael Maker trains the top speed in the race, who also has the best polytrack performance figure, Harry’s Holiday at 10-1. As the only true frontrunner in the race, he has a good chance of going gate to wire, but Bobby’s Kitten and Gala Award will be right on his tail.
