The Kentucky Derby Prep Series came to a close in mid February, with all the preps worth 10 points for the winner having been run and won.
We now move on to the 2016 Kentucky Derby Championship Series, where the next 7 races including this weekend’s Risen Star G2, are worth 50 points. After that, the stakes go up to 100.
The top point earner Nyquist, the 2yo champion, remains atop the standings with 30, after winning the pointless tuneup in the San Vicente G2 (no Derby points awarded).

All of the horses listed below will be passed by the winner of the Risen Star, except possibly Mo Tom and Airoforce, the two favorites, and Tom’s Ready who is also competing in the Risen Star.
