Collected continued his own Triple Crown trail, winning the Lexington and skipping the Kentucky Derby, which he doesn’t have enough points for anyway. But he was impressive in the 10 point win.

Trainer Bob Baffert plans on entering the talented miler in the Preakness Stakes, where his tactical speed is more likely to hold up than in the Derby. He went off as co favorite and didn’t disappoint backers at 2-1.
.
Swipe, on the other hand, finally returned to the races after taking 6 months off following 4 straight 2nd place finishes to top 3yo Nyquist. Co favored at 2-1, he was in contention at 3/4 but faded. Expect him in another prep before the Belmont Stakes.
.
Finishing 2nd today was One More Round, the pacesetter who ran moderate fractions but was no match for the late kick of Collected. His backers were happy at 40-1.
.
Synchrony gathered a head of steam from the rear and closed nicely for 3rd at 8-1. Direct Message ran in 3rd most of the way and held on for 4th at 5-1 after a ML of 15-1.
.
None of these horses will make the Kentucky Derby field, but they will be fun to watch in upcoming races, including the Preakness for some.
