This week had some more turmoil in the rankings, as Classic Empire made a classic comeback from injury, providing the fastest and decisive closing kick in the Arkansas Derby, and proving why he was the 2yo champ.

Thus, he vaults back into number one in our rankings, edging out Irish War Cry who was demoted to 2nd for doing nothing wrong but sitting on the sidelines. Everyone else in the top 10 had to move down as well.

Conquest Mo Money had his 2nd straight impressive 2nd place finish to solidify a top 10 ranking. 5 of the Ark Derby runners are in our top 12. Interestingly, 2 of them may not even get into the 20 horse Kentucky Derby field.

Hence moved up since he beat Conquest in the Sunland Derby earlier, when we didn’t know if either was for real. Apparently they are. Malagacy had to move down after fading in the stretch and possible letting Lookin at Lee and Sonneteer into the battle for roses.
