Weekend Winners Club

The Triple Crown may be over but the summer excitement is not! Racing is heating up in all corners of the country, especially this weekend at Saratoga, Del Mar, and Monmouth.

Today, Del Mar hosts the 12f Cougar Handicap G3, and Saratoga warms up the weekend with the Curlin Stakes for 3yo’s going 9f, coincidentally the same distance as the Jim Dandy G2 on Saturday.

The Jim Dandy is Saturday’s headline race, for 3yo’s to partake in a $600k purse. Belmont winner Tonalist will face off again with dangerous closer Wicked Strong in an epic battle that also includes Kid Cruz and Commanding Curve in the field of 7.

On Sunday, Monmouth holds a monster card of 14 races to celebrate the featured G1 Haskell Invitational for 3yo’s. Bayern, Social Inclusion, Wildcat Red, Untapable will compete with others for a $1 million purse in the field of 9.

Del Mar will get in on the action as well with the San Diego H G2 on Saturday, and on Sunday the Bing Crosby G1 and California Dreamin.
