Saratoga starts their jam-packed meet with a 10 race card and 117 initial entries. That’s almost 12 entries per race if you’re counting. There are several high-level allowances, 1 listed $100k stakes, and 2 graded stakes.
The G3 Schuylerville is the headline race featuring two year olds that are shooting for next year’s Kentucky Oaks. The chalk includes fillies with strong debuts trained by William Bret Calhoun, Steve Asmussen, and shocker, Todd Pletcher. Maybe not a good betting race but good for watching.
The faster and experienced horses will be entered in the James Marvin G3, one race beforehand. This race for 3 and up features 9 of the top sprinters in the country.
