March 12, 2018. Finally, the long awaited, next iteration of the Derby Dozen is out! These rankings are made regardless of points, but simply based on who the best Kentucky Derby contenders are.

Good Magic cruises past Solimini for the Breeders Cup Juvenile win.

Good Magic remains on top of the rankings, despite a loss in the paceless Fountain of Youth. In his BC Juvenile win, he beat everyone including horses that have gone on to win more big races. We don’t know exactly where he will run next but will need to pick up some points in another prep somewhere to make sure he gets in.

Mourinho did make the list this morning as we began work on it, and then we found out he had been euthanized after a morning workout. He remains on the list in memoriam. RIP Mourinho.
