March 20, 2018. Doug’s latest top 25 in 3yo’s, aka the Double Derby Dozen, is resorted this week, with Magnum Moon bursting into the top 5 with an impressive win.

Others are ranked similarly to where they were before, since this is not a knee-jerk reaction type ranking to every latest winner, as evidenced by BC Juvenile winner Good Magic still ranked #1 despite not winning a race yet this year.

Solomini remains in 2nd despite losing the Rebel, but it is because Magnum Moon beat him that Magnum Moon is ranked so highly now. See how that works? You have to beat somebody of worth to be ranked in this system.

The Rebel Stakes has been an occasional springboard of success, most recently resulting in the first Triple Crown Winner since 1978, American Pharoah in 2015. It was also used as a prep by Curlin, Smarty Jones, and Victory Gallop, known for their Triple Crown prowess.
