In other news, Gary Stevens said that it’s time for American horse racing to abide by international rules, and the need for a central commissioner for horse racing for the entire US. Many believe Stevens would be the right man for the job.
.
The North American Association of Racetrack Veterinarians have also weighed in as being against the Lasix ban and reduction. Extensive medical research has shown no connection between Lasix use and horse breakdowns, which is the cause for the ban. In addition, Lasix use is proven to prevent EIPH, a pulmonary horse disease.
