Saturday, Sep.7, 2019. Hastings will run the $250k Grade 3 British Columbia Derby right after the BC Oaks and sandwiched by a couple other stakes races. Grid of the week this time goes to Hastings since there aren’t many other race days worth doing it for the Canadian track.

The BC Derby will have 8 horses trying to take down the Canadian Derby G2 runner up Explode, who only lost that by a 1/4 length. At 2-1 morning line, he could go down to even money by post time at 7:35 Eastern.

In the $100k ungraded Oaks, ML favorite Killarney Lass won her first route last out at this distance in the Washington Oaks, but the frontrunner faces a field full of speed to contend with. The primary benefactors of a fast pace would be the top LP fillies like Sunburst.
