Saturday, June 27. Churchill Downs has their big summer racing day, fondly known as the Stephen Foster day, since it is the headline race on this historical occasion.  The 2 Grade 2 races Stephen Foster and Fleur de Lis both offer Breeders’ Cup race berths to the winners.

Two Grade 3 races are also on the card, including the Regret stakes and the Bashford Manor wherein some 2yo’s will begin making a name for themselves. There are 11 races on the card with 100 horses initially entered.

The Stephen Foster Stakes features multiple stakes winners including the favorite Tom’s D’etat, who was 3^rd in this race last year and has won 3 races in a row including the Clark G1 here at Churchill.  Last year’s Louisiana Derby winner By My Standards will also get much attention having won 2 stakes in a row.
