Saturday, November 14.  Gulfstream Park West, otherwise known as Calder Race Course, holds the Sunshine Millions Preview today, a misleading name all around, since neither today nor the actual Sunshine Millions day in January, will offer $1 million or more in purses.

Nonetheless, they will run 5 stakes races worth about $300k total with some of Florida’s best horses that didn’t make the Breeders’ Cup for whatever reason.  We’re going to break down these stakes races and make some picks here, including long shot specials (LSS).

Notes:  The weather in Miami is nice and pleasantly warm today, however, South Florida has been barraged with rain the past few days due to the storm Eta, and thus the two turf races will be run on dirt.  The track is rated fast and all the stakes races were already on dirt.  Short fields on most races.
